I purchased this to monitor a single room and needed a camera I could move to monitor different areas within the room. I am able to monitor through the night and can see the image clearly. I can hear everything going on in the room and have had no issues with reception. I can take it out in the sunroom and still have no reception issues. The two way communication is a great idea but when we speak through the monitor, it is very hard to understand and sounds like a radio communication, so it can be a little startling for the child. I can listen with the monitor, however, and understand every word said in the room. I didn't mount it, I just have it setting on a book case and it works great. The temperature monitor has been priceless for me because the child I am monitoring is very temperature sensitive. For single room monitoring, this is an amazing device at a very good price.
